About Us
So it was Yaoi-Con 2007, and Shiroro, Tsubasa and Leha were sitting
inside of a Mexican Restaurant in Millbrae, with about 8 other yaoi
lovers, when the conversation turned to the most recent shipment of
doujins that Leha had received. We were all Ooo'ing and Ahh'ing over
the beautiful art and delicious storylines, when Leha says 'I sure
do wish there was more groups scanlating Katekyo Hitman REBORN! doujinshi...'
and both Tsubasa and Shiroro nodded in unison. There was a moment
of silence, before Leha says to Shiroro, 'You really should translate
all these for me yanno.. with our super editor Tsubasa, and my mad
proofreading skills and scanning skills.. we could become a threesome
to reckon with!' Tsubasa nodded in agreement and everyone laughed
and joked about it while the food on the table slowly disappeared.
Once everyone was happily stuffed, Shiroro says, 'Yeah, we could be
like.. The Unholy Trinity Mafia or something!' And thus.. an idea
was born.
A few weeks later, we released our first 'official' Mafia release,
and decided that the doujinshi area of Aku-Tenshi, had never really
had a name, or a purpose.. it was just there to promote and release
doujins that slowly got worked on. So we all gathered on MSN and decided
that it would probably be a really good idea to bind ourselves to
that area of the site, and set it on fire. We talked about fandoms,
which ones we liked, which ones we weren't so hot on and which ones
we would do our best to focus on. As anyone can see, our main goal
is to get as much of the beautiful KHR art released into the community.
However, the other fandoms we all love, shouldn't go neglected.. so
it was about what Shiroro could translate and what Tsubasa and I would
edit/scan. Soon, we had a little over 75 doujins on our list of things
we'd like to see done. Now, as anyone knows, this can be daunting
for a single translator.. especially a translator who has her own
doujinshi work to do, as well as school, jobs and all those other
silly things we do in real life.
As time passed, our list only became longer and it currently boasts
over 300+ doujins that we own. They range from all kinds of various
fandoms, but our largest collection, is still Katekyo Hitman REBORN!.
With all these projects and so few people, we decided to ask around
and see who else wanted to help us bring more love to the community.
Slowly, our staff base has grown and we now have many translators
and editors, all of whom are amazing and wonderful. This isn't to
say we're not always looking for more.. we're just happy and feeling
quite blessed, that we've had our little group of three, grow into
this most amazing group of many. ^_^
